Mock Draft Fun, Version 1
Let the predictions begin!
Mock drafting time! I know all of you are on the mock draft simulator throwing in random scenarios right now, right? Is it a straight up draft with no trades? Are you moving up or down in the draft to try and secure the players you want? Honestly I have done so many mock drafts with different scenarios…I lost count! Many of you might ask…Rob, do you have too much free time? Yes….i think I do LOL. So, I would like to unveil the first pure mock draft with no trades (insert dramatic music here).
Round 1, Pick 25
Kayden McDonald, DT Ohio State
I feel most of these picks will be defense. We need a big force in the middle that can take on multiple blockers and stop the run. Kayden can do that! He is 6’3 and 326 pounds. He is not considered an elite pass rusher, but he can push the pocket which may allow more opportunities for our DEs to get pressure on the QB.
Round 2, Pick 57
Cashius Howell, DE Texas A&M
We get our edge rusher here with a guy I know the Bears have meet with a couple of times already. He does not fit the profile of Dennis Allen’s DEs (he is 6’2, 248) but he is explosive and productive. He also has a knack for pass break ups too, which is good considering the prototypical offenses now are getting the ball out quicker.
Round 2, Pick 60
Sam Hecht, C Kansas State
We get the future center to learn behind Garrett Bradbury and possible create competition. He is not a big player, but he is quick and explosive at 6’4 300 pounds and seems like a good fit in Ben Johnson’s blocking schemes. Could be a nice piece to grow with Caleb in the future.
Round 3, Pick 89
Bud Clark, S TCU
Ok, I had seen a couple of sports writers pick this guy for the Bears….but I didn’t know anything about him. After reviewing some tape and highlights…I can see the fit. He is a versatile defender that can line up anywhere and he has great ball skills. He can also use press man coverage when needed. He might actually be a perfect fit for Dennis Allen at this point in the draft!
Round 4, Pick 129
Harold Perkins Jr, LB LSU
This pick is a little different but hear me out. He is a little undersized at 6’1 222 pounds, but he is a playmaking chess piece that Dennis Allen could actually love to toy with, especially in his blitz schemes he likes to mix up.
Round 7, Pick 239
Daniel Sobkowicz, WR Illinois State
We have a training camp local star folks! The competition he played against was not great, but look at his production in 2025…very eye opening! He could be a nice size deep ball prospect (not fast, but can separate). 6’3 205 and GM Ryan Poles loves taking local prospects!
Round 7, Pick 241
Patrick Payton DE LSU
Dennis Allen gets a bit of a project at DE, but a fit with a good size/speed combination. He does not have a lot of production, but has raw talents that could be coached as a situational pass rusher.
That’s the first mock draft everybody, I hope you enjoyed it! I would also look for the Bears to pick up an undrafted free agent TE with great blocking ability.
Have a great weekend!
